Description

You will be responsible for:

  • Flying to and from site on roster.
  • Working with customers to define and refine technical aspects of complex solutions.
  • Assisting with specialist designs for a wide range of devices.
  • Liaising with customers during installation & testing of developed solutions.
  • Accurately diagnose faults relating to network and systems.



Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Experienced in configuring and updating Firewalls - Cisco ASA, Symantec, WatchGuard
  • Network design
  • Network kit installation, commissioning, decommissioning and build experience
  • Cisco cert.
  • Project low level and high level design experience.
  • Incident and Problem Management (to open and close tickets).
  • Complex enterprise environment experience.
  • High level troubleshooting skills for LAN, WAN WIFI, routing and voice.
  • Project implementation experience.
  • Mobile technologies, VRF, 4G, 5G, all the Gs.
  • Driver's license required for a field resource as well as remote work

Job Summary        

Utilising a mix of technologies, NBN Co is rolling out a network that will provision very fast internet speeds to Australian homes and businesses. The Network and Engineering Operations (NEO) division of NBN Co is accountable for operating and maintaining the network from a Service Activation and a Service Assurance perspective, in addition to management of all network infrastructure.

Reporting to the Triage Team Leader FTTX, the Network Engineer will be part of one of the Customer Connections teams that are responsible for managing on-the-day orders to prevent physical order fall out driving incomplete orders. The order management function covers FTTx technologies including Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), Fibre to the Node (FTTN), Fibre to the Building (FTTB), Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) and HFC services with accountability for driving on-the-day activations to agreed operational levels and SLA’s.

The Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring on-the-day activations are timely managed and resolved, delivered to high quality and driven to completion by use of a number of Service Activation Systems supporting the delivery of Customer Connections.

The position requires experience in service activations within a telecommunications or technical arena.  To be successful in this position you will have been a part of a Service Delivery environment with experience in areas including:

-              Service Design, Configuration and Activation Product Delivery including development of processes

-              The delivery of high volumes of customer services

-              Activation and testing of Ethernet services

-              Configuration of customers services on multi-vendor networks

-              Testing and troubleshooting of Activation faults

-              Use of Automated workflows in a Service Delivery environment

-              Use of related Support Systems (including  Element Management and Geospatial Inventory Systems)

  

Key Accountabilities
 

•             Provide technical assistance to field technicians through call back function resolving on-the-day physical fall out, including manage, diagnosis, troubleshoot and resolving technical issues that impact the completion of connection orders

•             Triage of work and customer orders to prevent incompletion (including liaising with Receive & Assign and RSPs), by addressing, resolving and managing fallout events timely

•             Drive work and customer order to a terminal state with all systems aligned

•             Configuration of customer services on a wholesale-only broadband network

•             Testing of services prior to customer handover to ensure a high level of quality

Will do a feasibility study of existing storage of Data in multiple formats and develop a plan to identify a future process for an innovative scalable Data Storage platform. Will then be able to propose a solution based on both current findings and to align with future Data Storage trends.

Role Deliverables:
Manage complex requirements with clients to identify and analyse Data storage across DFSI. Analyse existing business processes and functions to identify Data storage inefficiencies and/or non-compliance.

- High end skills and deep knowledge in information and data management.

- Excellent business analysis capability with technical know-how of establishing a big storage platform and management of the data.

- Hands on experience in running scrum meetings and delivery oriented stand ups.

- Knowledge of changing industry trends in big storage platforms.

- Good technical understanding in infrastructure requirements for big storage platforms.

- Knowledge in and an ability to provide advice in the development of data storage solutions and road map to implement.
